Vidal Sassoon, I Could Have Been

A 4.5+ year old me with my 1.5+ year old 'model'.
No worries, it's a fake pair of scissors and no one was hurt in the process.

Now again, why did I put myself through this legal pain and agony (reading law)? Pain and suffering, loss of amenities. *grins*
Could have been better off as a hairstylist, you see! *winks* Ouch, see-elle-pee hurts!

Reasons Why I Love My Doctors

I went to the Dermatologist's as well today. (Was just there as a 'moral supporter' and not the patient btw).

Stepped into the room, plonked myself down onto the chair directly opposite Mr. Dermatologist. He proceeded to examine the patient and then turned his attention to me.

"Hey, I've treated you before! I recognise your face!", he exclaimed in an excited manner.

"Yeah, but that was ages ago! Man, you've got good memory!", I remarked.

And Mr. Dermatologist went (note: I'm not the patient for today!), "So did you do anything with your keloid scar?" (I've got a scar on my right wrist, due to a nasty fall during my athletics days.)

"Nah, I've just left it as it is, though it hurts at times. No point doing steroid injections and all for that...", I replied casually.

Mr. Dermatologist continued, "Yeah, cosmetic surgery is an option too, but I don't see the need for it. But you've just got to be really careful you know, no piercings, cuts and all. You're so prone to them."

"Yeah I know..."

And then came the cracker from Mr. Dermatologist...

"But they will love you when you go to Africa!"

And I went (a bit confused), "What?!?!?! They even more prone to keloids themselves!"

"Yeah, but they practice self-scarification. They use bamboo shoots to cut their face so that they get keloids on their face. Well, they think it makes them look more like warriors, you know..."

I was dumbfounded. Really kena cha dou!

PS: My apologies for taking the limelight away from the patient! :P

The Pillar of Strength

An interesting observation at one of the shops along Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, Kuala Lumpur.

A steel frame erected to prevent the (presumably) pre-war building from collapsing.

Just like how we'd always need someone to provide us with support during those times of weakness and fragility...

The Double Delight

And the Stretford End faithful sings...

We won!

We won!!

We won!!!

We won!!!!

We won!!!!!

The trophies back from the glorious 1999; Manchester United Museum, Manchester
(Now, let's clear some space for the double of 2008 :P)

We won!

We won!!

We won!!!

We won!!!!

We won!!!!!

Old Trafford, Manchester; December 2004

I survived watching the finals!!!
My heart was pounding so hardly that I could feel it through my chest. Who wouldn't after a series of misses by Manchester United and a few calamity and 'saved by the post' moments for Chelsea.

And man, when John Terry walked up to take the 5th penalty (Ronaldo missed and it's 4-4 now, with Terry left to take), I just closed my eyes shut and prayed hard that he would miss! And he did!!!!!

Anderson duly converted the penalty, followed by Kalou for Chelsea. Then, Giggs walked up and converted the 7th; at this point I thought this agony would never end... that Evra, Vidic, Brown and Ferdinand would have to take a spot-kick each... I'll die of a heartattack if that happens...

Up came Anelka, who slotted the ball to van der Sar's right. VDS cleared, and all hell broke lose!!!!!!!

WE ARE THE CHAMPIONS OF EUROPE!!!!!!!!
(We won 6-5 on penalties)

Manchester United Museum; Old Trafford, Manchester

Goodbye season 2007/08, time to give my poor heart a rest for the next 2 months before this madness begins again!!!

Dream Holiday Destination

Note: The following pictures are posted with permission from the rightful owner.
____
My current wallpaper

Gold Coast, Australia - Second only (as to date) to South Africa in my dream holiday destination list. Ah, gotta work hard for all these perks...

I find it quite cool to be able to find an unpolluted beach right next to highrise buildings. Note the clean sand, and crystal clear waters...

You could see the sand... right beneath the clear waters!

So, how did the "Omigosh! Gold Coast is so beautiful" saga come about?

I was chatting with WK online earlier and he filled me in with details (or rather pictures - as I was pestering him for them :P) of his trip to Gold Coast last week. *Lols* It's amazing how often and much we talk to each other now; almost every other day. Flashback 14 years ago, we would have definitely not thought about this ever happening; we fought like cats and dogs!!!! Fistfights (more precisely, pinch-fights) included! It didn't help that we sat next to each other in class in Standard 5. Those were the days....

Note the different 'layers/colours' of the water. Clear, light blue, aquamarine, reddish, blue, white, dark blue. Amazing!

Guai los will be guai los whereever they go: Sun worshipping again! *siao!*

Judging from the pictures, I think he made the right choice to bring his parents to Gold Coast. The beach looks AWESOME!

Spanner Crab

Oh yes, they serve this thing called Spanner Crab in Gold Coast. Hmmm.... They look eerrrmm... poisonous. Unique!

Note:

I notice a helicopter hoovering over my apartment for the past 2 days; day and night. It had the spotlights on just now too (just like what you would see in a Hollywood drama). It was flying rather low and I find it somewhat disturbing.

Is someone watching us? Or is this a new crime reduction method?

My favourite picture of the lot. Though the ' batang' in the middle gives me the lonely and sad vibes...

Yummy, Yummy, Yum!

Disclaimer: VCKY- Food post ahead!
My 'witch's brew' of beef+chinese raddish+carrots+longans+goji berries (wolf berries). Tastes superb as usual *grins*; the rich and strong taste of beef complimented by the 'earthy' (no idea how to describe it) taste of the raddish. Alas, one thing lacking- Mandarin orange peel!
Otherwise, it would have been perfect!
